"Kiwi jasper" is a trade name for this stone which consists of albite, orthoclase, quartz, and muscovite. Occasionally you may find crystal sellers claiming Kiwi Jasper contains amazonite and black tourmaline, but crystal analysis on mindat.org has shown there is neither amazonite nor tourmaline in Kiwi Jasper. Jasper is a microcrystalline variety of quartz. The name jasper comes from the Greek word meaning “spotted stone” and they can include up to 20% foreign materials which account for Jasper's wide variety of colors and patterns.
