Our Yerba Santa is organic, sustainably grown, harvested, and wrapped in the USA. This listing is for one (1) Yerba Santa incense stick. Each stick is 4" in length.

Yerba Santa is Spanish for “holy herb,” named by missionary priests who were amazed by its healing powers. Traditionally used as a smudge or incense for protection and setting boundaries, Yerba Santa has also been used for love, purification, growth, empowerment and beauty, and the release of emotional pain stored in the heart chakra.

It is traditionally used as a smudge or incense to neutralize harmful energy and support healing ceremonies, as well as an altar offering. May be used in addition to, or instead of, Palo Santo. Can be used around the space, or simply circle it around an object, person, or image.

You can also burn Yerba Santa to nurture and protect that which is ancient, sacred, and wild within yourself. Use it when you need encouragement or courage.

Hand-tied with natural cotton string.

Uplifting scent.

Smudging:

Smudging is traditionally used in rituals, ceremonies, purification, house blessings, and energy cleansing. The smoke is believed by many to cleanse either a space or the body and aura, drive away negative energy and help reconnect with mother earth. Make sure the room where you are smudging is well ventilated with doors and windows open. This helps the negative energy to flow freely out while allowing the smoke to clear the air.

Carefully light one end using a small flame. Allow the end to burn for a few seconds, then quickly blow out the flame, so the incense smolders. Place the smoldering stick on a fire-safe surface - e.g. metal or clay bowl, shell, crystal agate dish, etc. Keep a small dish or cup of water nearby for quick distinguishing.

Do not use it if you suffer from Asthma or have respiratory issues. Do not use near infants or young children or anyone who is pregnant. Do not leave burning smudge unattended and make sure the stick is extinguished after use.
